The Hill Country does tea differently. Out here it comes with herb gardens, bed-and-breakfast parlors, and small-town squares — the kind of rooms that anchor a weekend drive rather than an afternoon meeting.
Run the loop over two days: San Antonio north through New Braunfels and Seguin, west to Fredericksburg, then back east through Georgetown or up to Salado.
San Antonio & the Southern Loop
Start in San Antonio, where The Old English Tea Shoppe does the traditional service and Brackenridge House B&B pours a Victorian afternoon tea in the King William historic district. A half hour north, New Braunfels' Tea Charmer combines a tasting room with serious loose-leaf retail, and The Dollhouse Tearoom in Seguin is exactly as charming as the name promises.
The Old English Tea Shoppe

British-owned and operated tea room in Stone Oak founded by UK natives, staffed by English servers and billed as 'the REAL English experience.' Serves full English breakfasts, fish and chips six days a week, Sunday roasts, and a traditional afternoon tea service ($49.95 per person, reservations required). Vegan and gluten-free options available on request.
Brackenridge House Bed & Breakfast — Victorian Afternoon Tea

Private Victorian afternoon tea served year-round on fine china in the veranda or dining room of a historic King William District bed and breakfast. The $52-per-person service includes a pot of luxury loose leaf tea, two home-baked scones, six desserts and pastries, four kinds of tea sandwiches, and a complimentary glass of sparkling wine for guests 21+. Reservations required at least 3 days in advance with full payment; children 10 and older welcome.
The Tea Charmer

Downtown New Braunfels tea room offering themed afternoon teas with sweets and savories, plus private tea parties. The shop side carries loose leaf teas alongside dresses, jewelry, and home goods. Full afternoon tea runs about $40 per person.
Fredericksburg & the West
Fredericksburg earns a full day. Blue Thistle Tea runs the tasting bar in town, and Hill Country Herb Garden serves tea amid its own working herb farm — garden setting, garden menu. In tiny Ingram, The Fancy Finch Tea Cottage is worth checking ahead (the cottage has been undergoing renovation) before you detour.

Women-owned tea bar on Fredericksburg's Main Street founded by Chef Christin Day, pairing single-origin teas and small-batch herbal blends with treats from local Hill Country artisans. Bookable experiences include the Fredericksburg Peach Tea Experience, tea-and-treat towers, and weekly tastings ($18–$24), each reserved with a $10 per-guest deposit applied to the total.
Hill Country Herb Garden

Restaurant, spa, and cottage retreat set among herb gardens in Fredericksburg. Its Herb Garden Tea Service, booked through Tock, is offered Saturdays and Sundays with seatings beginning 12:30–1:30 PM and features thoughtfully prepared tea, warm scones, and a curated tray of sweet and savory treats. The restaurant serves lighter American fare with international influences.
The Fancy Finch Tea Cottage

Small-town Hill Country tea cottage near Kerrville serving traditional British afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, and petite sweets, with no dress code and no time pressure. Normally open Thursday–Saturday 11:30 AM–2:30 PM by reservation; the cottage is temporarily closed for construction through September 2026 with reopening planned for October.
The Northern Squares
Coming back toward I-35, Salado's Serendipity pairs fine foods with an art-of-tea retail room, and Georgetown's San Gabriel House B&B — technically Hill Country's northeastern edge — closes the loop with full Victorian service on the town's historic square.

Afternoon Tea at San Gabriel House B&B

Elegant three-course afternoon tea served on vintage china in the dining room of a historic Georgetown bed and breakfast, followed by a tour of the home. Private group teas (8–16 guests) are scheduled Tuesdays–Thursdays at 12:30 pm or Sundays at 2 pm at $59 per person plus tax, with gluten-free accommodations available. Booking is via online reservation with a per-person deposit.
